Course Review

Brookside at the Rose Bowl’s signature layout, the C.W. Koiner Course, stands as a true testament to classic golf course design, boasting a rich 94-year history as a premier Southern California championship venue.

This par-72, 7,104-yard William P. Bell design is the oldest course in Los Angeles County, originally crafted to challenge the region’s finest players. Over the years, Brookside has hosted prestigious events including the Los Angeles Open in 1968, the National Public Links Championship, and continues to serve as the home of the annual Pasadena City Amateur.

Set against the backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains and alongside the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium, the Koiner Course delivers a memorable test of golf. Players are met with undulating greens, narrow fairways, and a layout that demands precision and thoughtful shotmaking throughout. Signature holes include the challenging par-4 9th, the risk-reward par-5 15th, and the standout par-3 17th.

We’re always excited to kick off the season with a visit to the Koiner Course.
